Steel rods, Colored plastic film.

Breaking Space (2020) is a collaborative installation piece I made with Anaïs Quiles-Lewis, Vivian Kong, and Trinity Kendrick, with mentorship from Jacob Rhodes for the annual bulb show at the Talcott Greenhouse at Mount Holyoke College. The piece uses welded steel rods, skinned with colorful film to create two central forms. We drew inspiration from the varying forms, textures, and patterns of tulips, especially as a result of genetic alteration.
